RELATIONSHIP TUESDAY: Let Love Lead The Way
/If we are stressed, confused, or distressed, we often wonder, "What should I do now?" and "What will happen if I do X or Y...". Think about the questions we can ask ourselves during these times, like “Why does this happen to me?” or “Why did they have to do that?”
Sometimes these kinds of questions just trigger us or cause us to worry, ruminate, fret or feel disempowered. By changing the questions we ask ourselves in those moments of challenge or upset, we can completely shift our perception.
In all of those pivotal moments in our lives, we can summon the courage, clarity, and strength inherent in our true nature by asking "What would love do?"
In this way, we can call out the best in ourselves and our entire awareness of the moment to respond.
By focusing on our nature and how we love best, we can not only change how we feel at that moment but also change how we perceive the world around us and how we deal with the individuals and circumstances around us.
As we ask this one simple question in the moments that matter, we will be better equipped to lead with love at all times, in all situations.
Continue to ask yourself, “what would love do?” or “what would love look like right now?”
Keep asking as you interact with people at work, at home, strangers and in public; see what unfolds in your heart, mind, in your body and in your relationships.
Incorporate this inquiry in your relationship to yourself when you are triggered, upset or confused. Make use of it particularly in those stressful moments. Think "what would love do?" during difficult times, when you make a mistake, when you feel tired or overwhelmed. Your question may not get immediate clarity, but what is more important is that you keep trying.
Consider letting yourself keep up with this line of inquiry with patience and curiosity - let it bleed into your thinking, the words you say, and the actions you take. See what comes of leading with love, and experiment with what happens if you do.
