/Misunderstandings happen. Often.
Many times the mudslide of conflict starts with a simple misunderstanding of intent or content.

Create a culture of curiosity by simply asking questions or engaging statements like,
"I don't think I fully understand, can you tell me more?"
"Tell me a story about that so I can understand you better."
"I am feeling initially defensive, but it seems like you have some solutions in mind. What are they?"
"Can you tell me more about how you came to that conclusion?"
This approach helps temper defensiveness on both sides and opens up opportunities to get to know each other and your stories better.
Tend to your relationship by cultivating a culture of curiosity.
