How to strengthen your community during community spread COVID-19
/When we first started to see cases COVID-19 pop up in our newsfeeds, few of us considered the consequences this would have on our immediate communities. Stores remained open, restaurants remained occupied, vacations remained planned, Air BnBs remained booked, pedestrians filled sidewalks, libraries and parks were safe, and homes remained shared.
And now, as we watch our lives shift, workforces plummet, finances halt, illness spreads, and fears increase, we long for the days of a slight delay of a latte’ at our favorite coffee shop.
As I have watched events unfold over the past month like a complicated origami swan, I have seen restaurants send food to the homeless shelters by the truckloads, I have heard of people driving in school buses to deliver meals safely to kids at home, and I have seen businesses change protocols to account for the needs of the community.
